COINS WE GRADE

NGC grades most U.S. Coins, tokens and medals in addition to coins from Great Britain, Mexico, Italy, Spain, Russia, Canada, Japan, France, China, Australia, and many other countries. See a full listing of world coins along with the range of dates.

In addition, NGC will grade and encapsulate most proof mint errors struck prior to 1985 and on a case-by-case basis after that. Limited service is offered for ancient coins under our bulk certification program for Authorized Dealers. NGC does not offer tier certification services for ancient coins at this time.

It is also possible for a coin to be returned ungraded and not encapsulated for a variety of reasons. Just a few are if the coin:

• is not genuine
• has been cleaned or artificially toned
• has altered surfaces or corrosion
• is damaged
• exhibits rim filing

Nevertheless, since these coins are still received, examined, tracked, and shipped just like graded coins while in our possession, all normal fees apply.
