Uram spearheaded the 1921 Silver Dollar Coin Anniversary Act, which led to the creation of the 2021 Morgan and Peace Dollars. These coins celebrated the centennial anniversary of the passing of the torch from the Morgan to the Peace Dollar, two of the nation’s most loved and collected series. The program proved incredibly popular with collectors.
Upon the conclusion of his CCAC tenure, Uram partnered with Numismatic Guaranty Company™ (NGC®) to become part of the NGC Signature Series and exclusively hand-sign certification labels. These one-of-a-kind collectibles are available from Bullion Shark.
“It’s very rare to be recognized for something that you are passionate about,” said Uram. “It is an honor to receive the Chester L. Krause Memorial Distinguished Service Award, and I will continue to promote this noble hobby.”
About the Chester L. Krause Memorial Distinguished Service Award
The Chester L. Krause Memorial Distinguished Service Award is the ANA’s highest honor, which recognizes nominees for numerous years of service to numismatics. Named after the late Chester L. Krause (1923-2016), this award is bestowed upon ANA members who have received the Glenn Smedley Award and the Medal of Merit. During his life, Krause was a philanthropist who created the publication Numismatic News in 1952. He received many awards over the years, including the Glenn Smedley Award and the Medal of Merit. Due to his outstanding service, the ANA named the Distinguished Service Award in honor of Krause.
