Posted on 9/23/2022

Highlights include a vintage "Dragon and Phoenix" Dollar as well as Gold Pandas and other modern rarities.

Over 200 vintage and modern coins from China that are certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company™ (NGC®) are in the spotlight in an upcoming sale by Spink. Online bidding has already begun for auctions CSS82E and CSS82F, which are being held October 1-2, 2022.

The top NGC-certified coin in the auctions is a China Year 12 (1923) Silver Dollar graded NGC UNC Details (lot 4401, session CSS82E). The obverse of the silver dollar depicts a dragon and a phoenix coming together over the national coat of arms. Examples of this artistic coin are eagerly sought by collectors, and this one has an estimate of HKD300,000 to HKD600,000 (about $38,200 to $76,400).
