Polish Auction Features Hundreds of NGC-certified Rare Coins

A vintage Polish rarity is among hundreds of world coins certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company® (NGC®) that are available in an upcoming Antykwariat Numizmatyczny Michal Niemczyk sale. Bidding is already underway for Auction 38, which is scheduled for March 18-21, 2023.
One of the top lots in the sale is a Poland 1839CNB AY/MW 20 Zlotych (3 Roubles) graded NGC AU 53 (lot 970), with a starting price of 20,000 PLN (about $4,500). There are only two examples of this particular coin in the NGC Census. The obverse shows the coat of arms of Russia, which in the 19th century exerted control over a large portion of what had been the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
Other NGC-certified coins in the sale include:
- a Poland 1770 IS Ducat graded NGC XF Details (lot 714), with a starting price of 50,000 PLN (about $11,200)
- a Poland 1627 Taler graded NGC MS 63 (lot 479), with a starting price of 30,000 PLN (about $6,700)
- a Poland 1791 EB 8 Groschen graded NGC MS 64 PL (lot 729), with a starting price of 15,000 PLN (about $3,300)
- a Poland 1930 Danzig 25 Gulden graded NGC MS 65 PL (lot 2444), with a starting price of 15,000 PLN (about $3,300)
- a Poland 1756 EDC Taler graded NGC MS 62 (lot 669), with a starting price of 10,000 PLN (about $2,200)
- a Poland 1930 5 Zlotych - Revolution - Low Relief graded NGC MS 65 (lot 2192), with a starting price of 6,000 PLN (about $1,300)
- a Germany 1896A Anhalt-Dessau 5 Mark graded NGC MS 65+ (lot 3145), with a starting price of 5,000 PLN (about $1,100)
- a Germany 1733 Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel Ducat graded NGC AU 58 and pedigreed to the Newman Collection (lot 3193), with a starting price of 4,000 PLN (about $900)
