Eur-Seree Auction Features Hundreds of Asian Numismatic Rarities Graded by NGC and PMG

Posted on 12/1/2023

The early December sale includes many coins and banknotes from Thailand, including an early Proof coin.

More than 300 coins certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company® (NGC®) and banknotes certified by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) are being offered in an upcoming Eur-Seree auction focused on rarities from Thailand. Bidding is already underway for Bangkok Sale #65, which is scheduled for December 2-3, 2023.

The top lot in the auction is a Thailand BE2526//1983 Gold 2,500 Baht - Year of Disabled Persons graded NGC PF 69 Ultra Cameo (lot 3043), with a starting price of THB 500,000 (about $14,150). An early gold Proof issued by Thailand, this coin commemorates the International Year of Disabled Persons. The internationally recognized event that began in the early 1980s has evolved into the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which is marked every December 3. The coin features the bust of King Rama IX, whose 70-year rule from 1946 to 2016 made him the third-longest reigning monarch in world history, behind only King Louis XIV and Queen Elizabeth II.
