Additionally, The Professional Numismatists Guild (PNG) awarded NGC Director of Client Success Paul Sandler with the Sol Kaplan Award, and NGC Ancients Director and Finalizer David Vagi the Significant Contribution Award.

Paul Sandler

“I am deeply honored to receive this award from the Professional Numismatists Guild,” Sandler said. “At NGC, we are committed to safeguarding the numismatic community by tirelessly working to protect it from bad actors. We take pride in contributing to a safer environment for collectors and consumers alike.”

Joining Sandler as recipients of this year’s Sol Kaplan Award are Michael Fuljenz and attorney Gary Linthicum of Universal Coin & Bullion, and United States Postal Service (USPS) Postal Inspector Ozzie Fong for their joint efforts and contributions in combating crimes against the numismatic community. According to PNG, their determined work led to the arrest of a Beaumont, Texas, postal service employee accused of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars of rare coins and precious metal bullion coins from the mail. David Vagi

The Significant Contribution Award was given to Vagi for exceptional, beneficial efforts over the years on behalf of PNG, the profession and the hobby.

"I'm pleased to receive this award on behalf of NGC Ancients, which for the last 15 years has led the way in making ancient coins more accessible to a wider audience, including those entirely new to numismatics,” Vagi said. “This could not have been achieved without NGC's legacy and brand recognition, our innovative approach to grading, and the expertise of our staff. All of this has benefited collectors of every level.”

Vagi added: "No doubt, PNG dealers have seen the expansion of the ancient coin market into the realm of mainstream numismatics. I believe we've been a leading force in that unprecedented growth. A large percentage of new collectors only participate because they can buy ancient coins in NGC holders or can have their 'raw' coins graded. This has been critical in assuring our hobby attracts new interest and continues to grow."
