Special NGC Labels and Designations for 2024-S Proof Morgan & Peace Dollars at the Tampa GACCS

The US Mint is releasing the 2024-S Proof Morgan Dollars and the 2024-S Proof Peace Dollars on September 12, 2024, during the Great American Coin and Collectible Show in Tampa, Florida. NGC will offer the First Day of Issue, First Day - Tampa GACCS and Tampa GACCS Releases designations for qualifying coins submitted to NGC at the GACCS show, being held from September 11 to 14. A storied coin of the Old West, the Morgan Dollar was minted from 1878 to 1904 and again in 1921. The Peace Dollar, minted from 1921 to 1935, was a symbol of America’s modernization in the 20th century in addition to commemorating the peace achieved after World War I.

After the US Mint retired the famous Morgan Dollar in 1921, the Peace Dollar was introduced. In 2021, to recognize the 100th anniversary of this significant transition, the US Mint released a new series of Morgan and Peace Dollars.

The production of the 2021, 2023 and 2024 Morgan and Peace Dollars was authorized by the 1921 Silver Dollar Coin Anniversary Act. The initiative to pass the act was boldly led by Thomas J. Uram, retired Chairman of the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC), who signs certification labels exclusively for NGC. 2024 Morgan and Peace Dollars certified with the NGC Thomas J. Uram Signature Label will be available through select retailers.

• Submit coins under the Modern grading tier or higher.
• Coins must be submitted on their own submission form. Each designation should be submitted on its own form.
• Note: Unless they are submitted for on-site grading, all submissions will be sent to NGC's headquarters in Sarasota, Florida, for grading.
