Posted on 4/11/2025
A Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle is expected to sell for well into the six figures as it and more than 600 other US coins certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company® (NGC®) are offered in an upcoming Heritage Auctions sale. Online bidding is already underway for the CSNS US Coins Signature Auction, with top lots starting to close on April 30, 2025.
The 1913 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle graded NGC PF 67 (lot 3385) is surpassed in grade by a mere three examples in the NGC Census. Only a few dozen Proof examples of this Double Eagle are believed to have been struck. In fact, of the 660 examples of Proof Saint-Gaudens Double Eagles across all dates in the NGC Census, a mere 39 have grades higher than this coin.
