World coins can be just as at risk for the development of dangerous residues as U.S. coins can be. Improper storage can lead to the development of hideous residues that, with time, can lead to irreversible damage. Long-term storage in holders containing the plasticizer PVC is one of those improper storage techniques that that can cause nasty residues that numismatists turn to NCS to remove.

This 1911 H, for Heaton Mint in England, 10 Cent coin from Sarawak was submitted to have the detrimental PVC residue removed from its surface so that this coin would both be stable in long-term storage and gradeable by a third-party grading service. The residue was able to be removed while leaving the pleasant toning on the piece. This coin was able to grade with NGC numerically after the conservation.
