NGC and PMG Prices Realized Highlights from Hong Kong(China) Auctions

An NGC-certified Chinese coin from the near the end of the Qing Dynasty and a PMG-graded Chinese banknote from 1936 were among the highlights from two sales by Heritage Auctions in Hong Kong, China(China) in late June. Highlights of these sales include:

- Lot 30088 — An 1899 China Kiangnan 50 Cents (L&M-224 Y-144A), graded NGC MS 62 PL. Realized (including buyer's premium): $312,000, in line with its pre-auction estimate of: $250,000 to $300,000.
- Lot 30153 — A 1923 China Gold Dollar (L&M-1096A Kann-1575), graded NGC MS 64. Realized: $108,000, in line with its pre-auction estimate of $100,000 to $120,000.
- Lot 30073 — An 1898-99 China Chekiang 50 Cent (L&M-283 Y-54), graded NGC MS 67. Realized: $105,600, in line with its pre-auction estimate of $100,000 to $120,000.
- Lot 30146 — A 1914 China Gold Dollar (L&M-1089), graded NGC MS 62 and holdered with a NGC ACAB Red Dragon label. Realized: $54,000, in line with its pre-auction estimate of $50,000 to $55,000.
- Lot 30093 — A 1904 China Kiangnan Silver Dollar (Y-145A.14), graded NGC MS 66. Realized: $26,400, exceeding its pre-auction estimate of $12,000 to $15,000.
- Lot 30067 — A 1911 China Long-Whiskered Dragon Silver Dollar (L&M-29), graded NGC MS 63. Realized: $93,000, in line with its pre-auction estimate of $80,000 to $100,000.
- Lot 30156 — A 1929/1932 China Brass Pattern Dollar (Kann-615 OBV/628 REV), graded NGC MS 64. Realized: $38,400, exceeding its pre-auction estimate of $20,000 to $25,000.
- Lot 30002 — A Kingdom of Macedon Philip II Gold Stater, graded NGC Ancients MS, Strike 5/5, Surface 4/5. Realized: $8,400, exceeding its pre-auction estimate of $5,000 to $6,000.
- Lot 28144 — 1907 China (Deutsch-Asiatische Bank) 20 Taels Specimen, graded PMG Choice Uncirculated 63. Realized: $33,600, in line with its pre-auction estimate of $25,000 to $30,000
- Lot 28034 — 1904 China (Imperial Bank of China) 10 Dollar Specimen, graded PMG Choice Uncirculated 64. Realized: $14,400, in line with its pre-auction estimate of $8,000 to $12,000
- Lot 28218 — 1941-55 Hong Kong(China) (Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation) 100 Dollars, graded PMG Superb Gem Unc 68 EPQ. Realized: $33,600, more than double its pre-auction estimate of $8,000 to $12,000
- Lot 28318 — Lot of two Malaysia (Bank Negara) 1000 Ringgit Proofs, graded PMG Superb Gem Unc 67 EPQ and PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ. Realized: $14,400, exceeding its pre-auction estimate of $6,000 to $9,000
- Lot 28006 — 1368-99 China Ming Dynasty 1 Kuan, graded PMG About Uncirculated 53. Realized: $14,400, exceeding its pre-auction estimate of $6,000 to $8,000
- Lot 28058 — 1936 China (Central Bank of China) 1 Yuan, graded PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ. Realized: $84,000, more than six times its pre-auction estimate of exceeding its pre-auction estimate of $8,000 to $12,000
- Lot 28270 — 1935 Hong Kong(China) (Government of Hong Kong) 1 Dollar, graded PMG Superb Gem Unc 67 EPQ. Realized: $15,600, exceeding its pre-auction estimate of $6,000 to $8,000
