NGC-certified Norcal Collection to be Sold at Macau Numismatic Society Show in November

The Norcal Collection of vintage Chinese coins was formed by an American living in China in the 1930s and 1940s. Kept intact since 1948, the collection contains numerous finest-known examples and is now virtually entirely certified by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC).
Champion Auction will sell the Norcal Collection on Nov. 25, 2018, during the Macau Numismatic Society (MNS) 30th Anniversary International Show. The sale will be held on the 6th Floor Promenade of the Sofitel Ponte 16 Hotel in Macau, China.
Among the highlights in the sale are two Republic of China 1912 Li Yuan Hung (with hat), L&M-43, Silver Dollars. One is graded NGC MS 66 while the other is graded NGC MS 65+. Another noteworthy coin in the Norcal Collection is a Republic of China Sun Yat-sen Pattern Silver Dollar made in Austria, which is attributed as L&M-97 and graded NGC MS 64+.

Outside of the Norcal Collection, the Champion Macau Auction also includes a number of NGC-certified modern coin highlights. One is a China 1983 Marco Polo Gold Pattern 100 Yuan graded NGC PF 68 and estimated to sell for $120,000 to $240,000 (USD).
The MNS show, which takes place at the Kam Pek Community Centre, Nov. 23-25, 2018, will feature 2018 MNS 30th Anniversary Show Pandas struck by the Shenzhen Guobao Mint. The MNS Pandas include the largest ever issued for a show, with a gold 5 kilogram and a silver 2 kilogram.
NGC is the Official Grading Service of the MNS. Representatives of NGC Hong Kong, China, Ltd., the company's Hong Kong subsidiary, will be present at the MNS show to accept submissions, answer questions and explain the company's benefits and services.
The MNS was established in 1988 to serve the coin and paper money collecting communities in Macau, a Special Administrative Region of China, and the surrounding areas.
NGC was founded in 1987 to provide expert and unbiased certification services for coins, tokens and medals. NGC has been active in China for more than a decade, during which time it has steadily expanded and enhanced its services in the country while building upon its reputation for accuracy, consistency and integrity. NGC has now certified more than 2.5 million Chinese coins.
MNS members are eligible to receive a voucher for a free NGC Associate membership (a $25 USD value), which grants privileges to submit coins and paper money to the companies’ Hong Kong and US offices. Vouchers will be distributed by the MNS in the next few weeks.
