NGC Expands Attribution Options for Modern Chinese Coins
Posted on 4/29/2019
Numismatic Guaranty Corporation® (NGC®) has announced that modern Chinese coins can now be submitted under its popular VarietyPlus™ service to be attributed to the catalog numbers listed in “Gold & Silver Coins of China: Standard Catalogue, 1979-2017.”
The authoritative reference covers nearly 40 years of modern gold and silver Chinese coins. It was written by Leo Wang, King L Chan and Jerry Lin, three respected experts affiliated with NGC.
Each coin listed in the book is given a unique identifier, called a “CC” catalog number. These numbers make it easier for collectors to identify and organize their modern Chinese gold and silver coins.
“This reference book greatly expanded the amount of information available for modern Chinese coins,” says David J. Camire, NGC Grading Finalizer. “By providing an option for coins to be attributed according the book’s catalog numbers, NGC is making it easier for collectors and dealers to research and study these important coins.”
Submitters can have their coins attributed with the “CC” catalog number on the NGC certification label by selecting NGC’s VarietyPlus service and noting the correct “CC” number on the NGC Submission Form. There is an additional fee of 95 RMB ($15 USD) for the “CC” attribution.
The new attribution options are being added to China section of VarietyPlus, which can be accessed at NGCcoin.com/variety-plus/china
