NGC Offers Special Label for 2019-W Palladium Eagles

Numismatic Guaranty Corporation® (NGC®) will offer a special label for the 2019-W Reverse Proof Palladium American Eagle coins that the US Mint will begin selling at noon Sept. 12, 2019. Only 30,000 of the coins will be minted.
These are the first palladium coins struck in Reverse Proof format by the United States. The US Mint produced Palladium Eagles last year as Proofs and struck the first US palladium coins in 2017 as Mint State.

Discovered in the early 19th Century, palladium is a rare silver-white metal whose chief industrial use today is in the catalytic converters of automobiles. The Palladium Eagles are composed of 1 troy ounce of .9995 fine palladium.
The coins feature two high-relief designs by Adolph Weinman, the American sculptor whose work in the early 20th century is still favored by numismatists today. The obverse features a reincarnation of the Mercury Dime's design, while the reverse has the dramatic eagle from the reverse of the American Institute of Architects gold medal.
To commemorate the Reverse Proof Palladium American Eagles, NGC will offer an attractive certification label that features the coin’s eagle motif and highlights the significance of the palladium composition.

- Submit this coin under the Modern grading tier or higher.
- All coins submitted must be graded.
- If you would like Mint packaging returned, select “Return Mint Packaging” on the NGC Submission Form. The fee is $5, plus the cost of shipping.

Bulk submissions
NGC’s First Day of Issue designation and labels are available for select bulk submissions only. To qualify for First Day of Issue, coins must be purchased within one day of the first day that a mint makes a new coin issue available for sale and must be received by NGC or an NGC-approved depository within one week of the release date. NGC will require that the submitter provide adequate evidence (including purchase receipts) to demonstrate the date when the coins were purchased.
