NGC Registry: Featured Japan Set

This month, we are excited to feature Star City Homer’s unique set found here: Japan: 50 Sen, 1873-1900, Circulation Issue.

Star City Homer's passion for her collection is evident in her NGC Registry set. Started in 2015, this set has grown steadily and is currently 63% complete — no easy task. This collector has invested the time to compile a detailed and interesting set description. Not only does she include an overview of the coins but she also provides unusual historical facts and explains the symbolism behind some of the coins' designs. Would you like your set to be chosen for a future feature article? We know that 100% completion of a set type is not always possible. Our team also will feature sets with thoughtful comments and images for all their coins. We sometimes will choose someone whose set has a personal story behind it or some interesting historical facts. We are looking for sets that someone has taken the time to make unique and a reflection of his/her personal collecting style. Your set might be next! Stay tuned.

The 2019 annual award deadline of December 6, 2019, is fast-approaching but there is still time to create new set types, upgrade coins in your existing sets and make other updates.

Please keep a few key dates in mind. If you wish to have your sets considered for any 2019 annual award, your sets must have been marked as visible, not “obscured,” by July 1, 2019. The deadline is 10 a.m. EST, December 6, 2019, to be considered for the 2019 NGC Registry Award.

Winners will be announced on January 10, 2020. Don’t forget, there will be more than $20,000 in prizes awarded for 2019! If you haven’t done so already, create your NGC Registry sets today at NGCcoin.com.
