Posted on 3/19/2021
A rare Italian coin is the top lot among over 150 coins certified by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation® (NGC®) that are up for bid in an upcoming Aurora Numismatica auction. The Italian auction house, which recently opened a second headquarters in San Marino, Italy, is offering the coins in Auction Aurora 21. Bidding is open online until the sale concludes on April 17, 2021.
The Italy 1901R 5 Lire graded NGC MS 63 (lot 337) has a starting bid of €65,000 (about $77,400). It depicts Victor Emmanuel III, whose 45-year rule had just begun after his father’s assassination in 1900.
