NGC-certified Rare Napoleon 'Hundred Days' Coin Featured in Heritage Sale

Rare French coins certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company™ (NGC®) struck during the reigns of 15 rulers, including King Louis XIV and Napoleon Bonaparte, are among more than 300 NGC-graded lots in an upcoming Heritage Auctions sale. Online bidding is already underway for The Long Island Collection of French Coins Showcase Auction, which concludes on February 27, 2022.
The top lot, a France 1815-A 5 Francs Napoleon graded NGC MS 64 (lot 92246), is a rare “Hundred Days” coin struck during the brief period after Napoleon’s return from his first exile on the island of Elba. The obverse displays a portrait of Napoleon, whose reign ended after the Battle of Waterloo in June 1815.
France was ruled by monarchs for more than 1,000 years, from 843 to 1870 – except from 1792-1804 and from 1848-1852. Below are additional highlights in the auction from the reigns of French monarchs:
