The Low Total Population Of Coins And Labels In This Set Make It Very Unique As Compared To The Majority Of All Other NGC Certified American Silver Eagle Sets With Signature Labels. John Mercanti and other dignitaries have signed many different signature labels with NGC such as the Reagan Label, the US Flag Label, the Blue Label, and so on. However, there is a privately owned and very low population NGC label known as the "U.S. Mint Engraver Series" label that is signed ONLY by John Mercanti on type 1 American Silver Eagles. Amazingly, the total number of ALL NGC U.S. Mint Engraver Series labels from 1986 to present is minuscule in comparison to the total number of either the U.S. Flag Labels or the Blue Labels or even the Reagan Labels issued by NGC in just this year (2021) alone!! All holders in this competitive set are adorned with NGC's US Mint Engraver Series labels. This set is very distinctive and took much effort to assemble. For example, the 2008-W Rev. 2007-W ASE shown in this set is one of only twenty one as shown in the NGC census. And the 2011-W coin is one of only NINE. Hence, there can only be eight other sets in existence exactly like the one shown here. Because of the very limited quantity of T1 burnished American Silver Eagles with U.S. Mint Engraver Series labels cataloged in the NGC Census, it can be asserted that this is "Mercanti's Capo Di Tutti Capi Set" as compared to the overwhelming majority, if not possibly ALL other NGC certified ASE sets with John Mercanti signed labels. It appears that beginning in 2021, John Mercanti will bequeath the pen to Michael Gaudioso who will be the exclusive signer for NGC's US Mint Engraver Series label on T2 burnished ASE's. As of 2021 there are 16 coins that together comprise a complete set of American Silver Eagles having the U. S. Mint’s “burnished” finish. All are represented here in uniform grades of NGC MS 70, and each coin is illustrated obverse and reverse. There are wide variations in point scores, and this reveals the more desirable entries. Top among these is 2008-W with Reverse of 2007. Other high scoring examples include 2006-W, 2011-S, 2012-W and 2021-W Type 2 Reverse.
